Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
[Updated 3/16/20 7:00pm]
Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) around the world. Anchor Ridge is committed to continuing the work of the Lord and meeting as many needs in the Appalachian Mountains as possible.
As the situation of this virus continues to evolve, we would like to share the steps that we’re taking to keep our team members and families that we serve safe:
- Ensuring that excellent hand washing practices are followed
- Encouraging volunteers or staff that may have symptoms of any illness to stay at home
- Frequently disinfecting commonly touched surfaces in all areas of our facility
Large Public Events (‘Block Party’)
Following the guidance of the CDC, we’ve taken steps to minimize large gatherings.
Large ministry events (“Block Parties”) planned through May 10th have been removed from our schedule and will be scheduled for later in the year.
Distribution events and outreach efforts that do not facilitate an assembly of more than 10 people at one time will not be affected and will remain in operation.
Child Sponsorship (‘Kid’s Club’)
Our child sponsorship program, ‘Kids Club’, will remain open! Our team will make every effort to ensure each child and family receives their provisional items without congregating or being assembled with other families. Our team will take extra precautions by wearing gloves, using hand sanitizer and practice frequent hand washing to ensure we don’t cross contaminate.
Anchor Ridge volunteer nights at our processing center in North Wilkesboro, NC are temporarily canceled. We will host individuals and groups smaller than 10 periodically to meet the needs of provision processing. Please contact our office if you would like to volunteer as an individual or as a small group.
We are continually monitoring the situation and will provide updates as circumstances may change.
